Description: Mountain House is well-known in 40 years for offering a variety of entrées, desserts, breakfasts, vegetables and fruit snacks. Travis and I decided to try a pouch of Chicken with Rice, and we enjoyed it! Not only it was easy cooking, but also tasted delicious. (See our pictures)

These dried foods is ideal for camping, backpacking, boating/kayaking or emergency readiness. Therefore, we are saving this box as one of our essentials for disaster preparation.

Each pouch has two servings, so two persons can share this entrée. Using one pouch, just open at tear notch, remove the oxygen absorber, and pour into 2 cups of boiling water. After stirring, close the zipper and wait for 8-9 minutes. Then, eat right out of pouch. Easy, huh?

Before our backpacking trip, we have tried different pouches: Beef stew and Lasagna with meat Sauce. Beef stew is very edible; it contains potatoes, cooked beef, carrots, peas, corn, onions, sugar and garlic powder. We added salt for an additional flavor though. After trying the lasagna, we immediately chose this pouch as our dinner meal. The meat sauce has tomatoes, cooked beef, dehydrated onions, spices, garlic powder and dehydrated Parsley Flakes. The cheese blend includes mozzarella, dehydrated Parmesan and Romano cheeses.  Adding a pinch of salt helps but not required. Not bad for a frozen dried entree, huh?
