Exped SynMat UL 7 Air Sleeping Pad

Exped SynMat UltraLight 7 Sleeping Pad

Description:

The Exped Synmat UL 7 air pad provides comfort and relief from the cold, hard ground. It is ultra lightweight and can pack down to the size of a half-liter water bottle, which takes less space in your backpack.

Its Exped FlatValve Technology provides two wide FlatValves for inflation and deflation. The intake valve has a built-in flap to prevent air escaping when inflating. It can be inflated within 1-1.5 minutes by mouth, easy. No dizziness, yay! For ideal comfort during use, pushing in the built-in flap at the deflate valve releases little air. Packing the mat up is easy and takes few minutes. With one hand, I use my finger to push the flap open on the outtake valve while I use my free hand to squeeze (or roll) the air out of the mat. Then, I re-roll the flat mat and insert in its packsack.

A packsack and a small repair kit are included in this package. The repair kit contains adhesive and fabric patches. It’s also easy to insert it in the packsack along with the sleeping pad.

Quality materials of this mat provides comfort and slip resistance. Proprietary Exped laminate is airtight and resists degradation. Lofted microfiber insulation is laminated to the top and bottom of the inner walls, providing efficient 4-season warmth and its non-slip finish keeps your body from slipping off the mat.

Warm insulation: Texped-loft microfiber provides insulation and is laminated to the upper and lower sides of the mat. Baffled chambers evenly distribute insulation, eliminating cold spots.

Flat valve technology and high frequency welded seams help extend the life of your sleeping mat, while a repair kit helps plug holes just in case. Bodyglide Anti-Chafe Stick

Body-glideFeatures:

  • Sweat & water resistant
  • Prevent chafed, chapped, cracked skin
  • Can apply to feet, thighs and upper body
  • No water or oils
  • No petroleum
  • Wetsuit safe
  • Invisible

Description: BodyGlide is an anti-chafe balm, known as an official sport lubricant. It prevents and relieves any chafed, chapped or cracked skin. It protects your skin from the drying effects of wind and cold weather. It can be applied on feet, thighs, buttocks, chest, arms and neck. Due to my backpack, my pants slip up and down while I hike downhill. So, it usually causes skin chafing of my thighs and buttocks. For this reason, I buy this balm and apply it prior hiking.  During backpacking, I also use it for pain relief on my back, underarms and my collarbone. Soap and water can easily remove the balm. I always recommend this balm to my friends, it does help prevent skin chafing and ease the soreness.

Sea to Summit XBowls

img_0103Features:

  • Rigid base used as a cutting board
  • Withstands extreme freezing conditions
  • Folds flat for compact packing
  • Holds 22fl oz.

Description: We bought two XBowls for our camping trips. While testing our JetBoils, we used these bowls and liked how easy and convenient they are to use. Even though they fold flat easily, they don’t fold accidentally while it’s filled with food. When we carry the bowl with hot food inside, our hands don’t get burned by its heat. The base is flat enough to lie alone on our laps, which allows us have free hands to do something else. Using a mild liquid soap, the bowls are easy to clean and dry.

Asolo Stynger GTX Hiking Boots – Women’s

Stynger GTX Hiking Boot - WomensFeatures

  • Water-resistant suede upper with high-tenacity nylon mesh
  • Seam-sealed Gore-Tex® Sierra liners for waterproof protection and breathability
  • Moisture wicking nylon linings
  • Gusseted scree tongues and padded ankle cuffs
  • Rubber toe bumpers
  • Removable EVA footbeds
  • Lightweight EVA midsoles
  • Asoflex thermoplastic board
  • Durable rubber outsoles include Aso-brake technology
  • Matrix outsole with Visible Active Heel Support technology

Description: Since I experienced a heel injury, I decided to buy a new pair of boots with ankle support. After trying few pairs, I bought a pair of Stynger GTX Hiking Boots. My boots have a water-resistant suede upper plus the nylon mesh deliver, promising flexibility and support while remaining breathable. During a 14 mile hike on a weekend, my boots remain dry, flex well and support my ankles.

Inside my boots, the ankle cuffs are padded and comfortable. I feel no pinching nor lace tightening against my skin. The bellows tongues are also padded, so the laces can be tightened without discomfort on my shin. Stynger GTX Hiking Boots also has hard rubber toe bumpers that protects your feet against impact and abrasion. Once I had to climb over a snow-covered hill, knowing that there are rocks underneath the snow. I like how I can easily kick my boots in the snow to climb over without worrying about hurting my feet if I kick into a rock.

Stynger GTX Hiking Boots have a lightweight EVA midsoles, which provides cushioning comfort and shock absorption, especially when hiking on rocks or uneven terrain. I usually experience discomfort on my heels and ankles, but not when I wear this pair of boots. The salesperson who I spoke with said that this pair has an active heel support that offers shock absorption and full heel support and control. Perfect! To prevent an injury of heel slipping, he also showed me a neat trick of tying shoelaces without being too tight. It tightens the ankle cuffs well while the shoelaces are not too tight below the ankle cuffs. This trick prevents my feet from slipping up and down to the front, which causes friction between my heels and the shaft of my boots. (See pictures below)

The outsoles of Stynger GTX Hiking Boots are made of durable rubber that gives  maximum downhill grip and grip on uneven terrain. I trust these boots because I’m paranoid of injuries caused by slip and fall.

Stynger GTX Hiking Boots aren’t lightweight but are great for ankle support especially during backpacking trips. I feel comfortable and secure with this pair of boots, so I highly recommend them to friends.

Afterwards, we just wrapped the inlet hose around the filter and clipped the hose to the handle’s tube clip. Simple as that. We do recommend choosing the MSR MiniWorks EX Microfilter as your water filter.
