Barr Trail – June 2011

1. Start the hikeTasha and I hiked up at Barr trail last June. The first 3 miles was challenging due to the straight-up incline plus the high altitude. The warm weather has gotten to me so I needed frequent breaks to catch my breath and cool off a bit. Fortunately, we brought enough water to stay hydrated and kept going. At first, we planned to stop at the Barr bailout, where the Barr trail meets the Manitou Incline. By the time we reached there and ate our lunch, we decided to challenge ourselves to continue hiking up until the point where we find the sign leading toward the Manitou Incline. We did meet the challenge and were happy to hike back down, enjoying the views around us.
